Despite some of the hardships many of our students face, they come to school with big smiles, eager and ready to learn. Here is a snapshot of just some of the students who attend School for Life.

On September 8th, a group of 16 adventurers reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. It was a feat that took seven days to complete; a gruelling mental and physical challenge battling freezing cold temperatures and altitude.

A wonderful day was had by our students, teachers, parents and Travel4Good visitors from Australia, coming together to participate, compete and have fun at our annual Sports Day!

Due to a lack of washrooms, a lack of sanitary pads and bullying by peers, girls in rural Uganda miss up to eight days each school term because they are on their periods. The eight days on average translates into 11% of the total learning days in a year which causes high drop-out rates and school absenteeism. To celebrate the progress and academic achievements of our students, each school hosted an Exhibition Day for family and friends.

We are incredibly proud of our Primary One teacher, Jesca Nakacwa, who has recently completed her Diploma in Primary Education at Uganda Martyrs University.

This year School for Life welcomed Elisha as our new Biology and Agriculture teacher.

The first day of school is a big day for every child in the world but for children in Uganda it is truly a life changing day.

Our foundation students completed their final year of Primary school at the end of 2017, and this week, we received the National Primary Leaving Exam results of our Primary 7 graduates.

Steve and his family "who aren't really into camping", came together to brave the elements, altitude and freezing temperatures to trek Mount Kilimanjaro. The experience left a lasting impression on him and his family. 

After travelling all around the world, Peta jumped at the chance to make a difference in the lives of others by joining the Kilimanjaro 2017 team. Having the opportunity to visit our schools in Uganda made it even more of an unforgettable and life-changing experience. 

Sydney mother-of-two, Nat, shares how she stepped outside of her comfort zone and faced the daunting Mount Kilimanjaro in support of education and School for Life.

Taryn and her husband Brad hail from Victoria and together joined forces to tick Kilimanjaro off Tayrn's bucket list. They were looking for more than just an exciting adventure challenge - they wanted their climb up Kilimanjaro to count for something good. They found their cause in School for Life's mission.

On International Day of the Girl Child we are celebrating some of the amazing girls who attend School for Life. Their dedication to receiving an education and creating change within their communities is inspiring and deserves to be recognised today and every day!
